Recently I was in our guest room, which we affectionately call the Tennessee room as it is filled with family memorabilia, furniture and quilts from East Tennessee. There on my grandfather’s antique oak nightstand was a book that caught my eye, “Time for Thoughtfulness, A Daily Guide to Filling the World with Love, Care and Compassion” by Ruth Fishel. It had been my mother’s nightstand companion for many years before she died so I was curious to see what words would speak to me. Not only did it contain the author’s wise words, but my mother occasionally used it as a quasi-diary jotting notes about a day’s activity. What a treasure I now have as the first quote set the stage for an uplifting year. “Thoughtfulness takes practice. Today is a perfect day to begin.”
Thanks Mom!
