Recently something happened to me that I never expected. I had been invited by the Daisy Mountain Veterans organization to a neighborhood parade to celebrate Joe Berger, a WWII veteran who was turning 100. Since my father had served during WWII, I jumped at the chance to connect with a veteran from that era. On May 3, our Anthem, Arizona, community really turned out for Joe.
